In the article Gene discusses data that he compiled in 1978 during his tenure as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Houston Astros to determine the effects of lifting weights during the season on offensive performance.

Baseball Hitting Tips from the Legendary Tony Gwynn

Doug Bernier has a video on ProBaseballInsider.com featuring the late Tony Gwynn from the San Diego Padres. In the video, Tony discusses the various things that young hitters can do to greatly improve their game. He talks about how to swing the knob and not the barrel, and how to recognize when you aren’t getting a good enough barrel path to the ball.

Conditioning for Baseball That’s Not Running Poles!!!

Graeme Lehman has a wonderful guide on LehamansBaseball.wordpress.com about different strategies and forms of conditioning called High Intensity Continuous Training (HICT) that can be particularly helpful for baseball athletes. He has several different drills that you can use for individual players, the whole team, and even has an on-field conditioning circuit to run during practice.
